Nashville School Garden Coalition Vision Statement: We envision a city where students, families and the community are healthier, academically successful and environmentally sound through involvement in school gardens.
Mission: The Nashville School Garden Coalition works collaboratively to achieve this vision by advocating for and supporting the school garden movement in the following ways: -sharing best practices -organizing and empowering leaders -developing policies and procedures -providing a technical support network -integrating gardening into the curriculum to support academic achievement We will provide a model for other communities by setting standards of excellence for garden-based education, institutionalizing them within our schools and supporting food security for families.
